This year, we’ll excited to be launching a series of ‘Lunch & Learn’ events. Each event will feature a speaker and a theme, and will explore information pertaining to the researcher community at Durham. These will be generously hosted by Hatfield College in their beautiful SCR Sitting Room/Dining Room.
Our first event of the year will be hosted on September 27th from 12pm to 2pm.
- We’ll be hearing from Ann Giletti, chair of the Oxford Research Staff Society (OxRSS), about their association works to support researchers throughout their institution, and how the RSA may serve the research community at Durham.
- We’ll also be discussing the Progression & Promotion process for researchers at the university, in order to demystify career progression in the academic environment.
- We’ll also be providing an update on the University’s Research Culture Strategy and announcing some exciting news about our upcoming research project about improving research governance (funded by Wellcome)
- There’ll also be an opportunity to ask questions about our upcoming Researcher Development Grant.
Whatever your interests or area of discipline, we hope that these meetings will be a great opportunity for researchers to meet other like-minded staff and the beginnings of establishing a supportive and welcoming researcher association at Durham!
