Researcher Development Grant

The Durham University Research Staff Association (RSA) is proud to support its researcher community in a variety of ways. In 2023, the ‘Researcher Development Grant’ fund was established, and proved to be hugely successful, awarding over £10k of funding to researchers from various departments of the university. This funding has been generously allocated to us by the Flourish@Durham project, which seeks to improve research culture at the university.

The aim of this fund is to support the research community at Durham University to secure access to funding to support their individual researcher development, particularly when they do not have access to any other available funding. Funds are allocated where they help to promote a researcher’s work or professional development, to gain valuable experience, or lead to publication or impact.

The fund is intended for those Durham University-employed researchers without an Individual Research Fund (IRF) or access to a departmental or school research fund.

The next round of Grant Funding will be opening in March 2024. We will be providing more specific information via email and teams, so make sure to sign up to our mailing list and join our teams group for more information.
